Where we came from
The Depaul Box Company was started by a youth homeless charity called Depaul UK. Instead of just relying on donations, we wanted to broaden our horizons and act like a business to raise money, rather than a charity.
So we thought out of the box. Everyone associates the homeless with sleeping on boxes, so why not sell boxes to help the homeless?
And so The Depaul Box Company was born.
Where we are now
Our boxes look, cost and work exactly the same as all the others out there. The only difference is ours do lots of good. By simply using a box you can help make sure a young person doesn’t have to sleep on one.
When Anthony was 16 his mum kicked him out of the house. Staying with his girlfriend's family didn't work out, so he found himself sleeping rough in parks and doorways. When Depaul UK found Anthony, he was depressed and drinking heavily. They helped him find a hostel and the support he needed. Recently Anthony sent a message to Depaul UK saying he'd found a job, patched things up with his girlfriend, and had just got his own flat. The only thing he needs a cardboard box for now is moving in.
By purchasing our boxes you're helping a young person like Anthony off the street.
At an early age Kate was abused by people who should have been protecting her and let down by everyone she knew. She was forced to leave her family house and call the streets her home. Kate turned to self-harm and violence before Depaul UK intervened and provided the emotional and practical support she so badly needed. Today she enjoys a stable life and her own flat, where the only thing she needs cardboard boxes for is moving up the property ladder.
By purchasing boxes you're helping a young person like Kate off the street.
